Grains were flat overnight as market players weighed how markets would be affected by news from Russia, Ukraine and China.

There were positive signals from talks between Trump and Ukrainian President Zelenskiy. But those signals were undermined by claims that Ukraine had tried to attack Putin's residence in northern Russia. Ukraine called the accusation a lie meant to undermine the peace talks. Russian attack drones on Tuesday hit two civilian vessels entering a Ukrainian Black Sea port to load wheat.

Also on Monday, China launched extensive war games around Taiwan to show Beijing's ability to cut off the island from outside support in a conflict, testing Taipei's resolve to defend itself and its arsenal of US made weapons. That flash point poses a threat to the US China trade truce with China yet the ship purchases of US soybeans.

More big rain forecast for northern and central Queensland.

$A steady.

Local grain prices were mostly flat.
